Royce A. Davenport is a graduate of McMinnville City High School and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He served in the U.S. Army for six years as a Signal Corps Officer and Fixed-Wing Pilot. While in Vietnam he flew high priority missions in U-21s throughout Southeast Asia. He bought his first business while attending Graduate School at MTSU in 1975. Since then he has owned and managed 5 other businesses and is currently involved in coin-op laundries and real estate. Royce served two terms as Mayor in the late 1980s and is in his second 4 year term of this century. He has two grown children, Michelle and Rad, from his first marriage and lives at 533 West Main Street with his wife, Patti.
