Uniform Division

The Uniform Division is responsible for patrolling the more than 10 square miles of the city limits, which is divided into four geographical zones. The division is commanded by Major Bryan Denton and consists of three teams. Each team is supervised by a Lieutenant, who is assisted in supervision duties by a Sergeant.

FIRST SHIFT
First shift is under the direction of Lt. Chuck Taylor and Sgt. Mark Mara

SECOND SHIFT
Second shift is under the direction of Lt. Don Davis and Sgt. Robert Hutchins

THIRD SHIFT
Third shift is under the direction of Lt. John Morgan and Sgt. Bill Davis

There are currently 20 allocated uniformed positions. Each shift is trained and equipped to meet the needs of the citizens of McMinnville. The Uniform Division is the most visible unit of the Police Department answering an average of 1200 calls for service, making 100 arrests, issuing 500 citations, answering 90 alarms, and investigating 70 accidents per month. Combined, there are almost 170 years of experience among the six shift supervisors and the division commander.

The Uniform Division maintains a fleet of marked units that are assigned to officers as take home cars, provided the officer lives in Warren County. The benefits of assigned take home cars include: higher police visibility, quicker response time in the event of a major incident, and extended life of the unit with lower maintenance costs.

The Uniformed Division officers currently work three standard shifts. A newly created specialized unit known as the C.O.R.E. Team, under the direction of Sgt. Mark Mara, works varied non-traditional hours. This Team supports shifts during peak hours, performs saturation patrols in high call volume areas, assists with traffic accidents, and does additional traffic enforcement, etc.
